Dental Veneers Can Correct a Wide Range of Dental Flaws
If you’re an expert at covering up your smile, you know there are many ways to do it. You might cover your mouth when you laugh or not smiling fully when you pose for a picture. But wouldn’t it be nice to not have to think about hiding your teeth?
At 88 Smile Designs, Edly Destine, DDS, is an expert at giving men and women great smiles with veneers. Veneers, which are ultra-thin shells that are placed on the fronts of your teeth, can cover gaps, hide discoloration, strengthen teeth, and more.
What’s special about veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain shells, and while they may appear delicate, they’re very durable once they’re bonded to your teeth. Veneers can be used for cosmetic or structural reasons. Veneers can address many issues, including:
- Tooth discoloration
- Teeth that are chipped
- Teeth with gaps between them
- Badly worn teeth
- Misaligned teeth
Veneers are not a one-size-fits-all treatment, and they’re not a single color, either. Your veneers will be made to fit your teeth exactly. Furthermore, the color of your veneers will match your surrounding teeth. Colors range from cream-colored to bright white and everything in between.
Whether you have a single tooth that needs help or many, Dr. Destine can give you custom veneers that make your teeth look great.
What is the process like?
First, Dr. Destine will consult with you about the dental issues you want to correct. If veneers are the best option, he’ll go over the next steps, including which teeth will need veneers.
Next, he’ll remove a little enamel from the teeth that will get veneers. This will allow the veneers to bond well to your teeth. Next, he’ll make impressions of your teeth. These impressions will be used to create veneers that will fit your teeth exactly.
Once you’re impressions are made, Dr. Destine will send them to a lab where you’re veneers will be created. In the meantime, he’ll give you temporary veneers until your permanent ones are ready.
You will likely need to visit the office a few times during your treatment. Dr. Destine will go over the details with you after your evaluation.
Taking care of your veneers
You should take care of your veneers by brushing and flossing them regularly. Furthermore, you should come in for dental checkups once or twice a year. With proper care, they should last a decade or more.
